CabArt“CabArt” has been a wine art design concept in my mind for years. The designs have a heavy Scandinavian Contemporary Art Design Influence due to my numerous visits to Norway.  The concept of Rui CabArt wine art is artistically designed cabinetry that has a function.   The question has always been: how can I bring art, function and storage, and display into a single piece with an artistic flair?  When I started working with Hands-On Woodworking as a cabinet designer, I saw that the approach they take to storage and function could be applied to my designs; adding the final element: art. Realizing that Hands-On could make the wine art in my head become reality was truly exciting.  With their state of the art facility and great staff CabArt was set into motion.

The initial offering is the WineSlide – 15” x 30” x 6” wine cabinet.  It is available in a “leap frog” finish with sliding adjustable caramelized bamboo shelves.  Display and store you favorite wine, carafe and glasses in a manner that is sure to gain attention from your guests. This design will also suit the brandy and other fine spirits aficionado. The shelves slide and offer many interesting configurations to highlight your prized collection.  The WineSlide uses all environmentally friendly materials and finishes.  20 pieces will be available the first week of August 2010, pre orders are accepted with a 20% deposit.  Call to reserve yours @ 704.892.7720.  These pieces are numbered and signed; only 20 of this exact design with these exotic materials will be available to the public.  Other wine art designs are currently being perfected.

Liz Rui Biography

Elizabeth (Liz) F. Rui is a graduate of Western Carolina University in the school of interior design (this is a FIDER accredited program). The technical and art aspects of her studies and continuing education are her favorite.  Aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically functional products and spaces have always been a passion and priority of Liz.  She is a Certified Kitchen Designer through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).  Liz has more than 10 years of Interior Design experience and 7 years specializing in Kitchen and Baths.
